The painting (Tall poppy,100 X 140 cm), is of a tall red poppy rising above a bed of yellow Icelandic poppies. However, like many other of my floral paintings on this site we see flowers in a greatly extended vision, for I incorporate petals, stems, seeds, plant proteins, collagen, molecules, cells and bacteria. I also ignore scale and jumble many elements of greatly different sizes together. This to me comes closer to nature and produces works which are sometimes quite abstract.
